Week 10 exhibition reflection post

At the moment, in the exhibition, this is our last week to finish, our making conclusions stage. I have finished my poems, my graph, my information reports and my media arts video. I have finished all of the due tasks for the exhibition. With my information report, I have used up two boxes to put information in, one box for an image and one box for my references. All my information reports are hand drawn. I have listened to the feedback about my media arts video and have finalised and finished that. With my graph I have represented the pay gap between men ad women. With my poems I have basically written a poem and a short story.
I love my topic so much, it’s really interesting. I’m so excited for exhibition!

Exhibition reflection W9

In exhibition, we have finished the sorting out and going further stage, I’m now onto making conclusions. Next term is the exhibition, and we are going start the taking action stage. I recently got handed a schedule, to keep track of the items I am going to be displaying in the exhibition. On the schedule, I have to finish poetry (my poem about my topic), my information reports ( an information report is key parts of the information about your three lines of inquiry), my graph (my graph represents the pay gap between men and women), my gender inequality video from media arts, my dance with Lauren and Ria for P.E, my poster in art, my presentation and composition in music, research folder (note taking) and communication (listening and talking). These are the things listed on my schedule that I have to complete for the exhibition. I have almost finished the P.E dance and I am up to my second information report, so my key information about my second line of inquiry, an inquiry into the reason behind gender inequality. I am a bit nervous about getting everything done, so I might do a little more homework at home. For me, the exhibition has been fun but as required a lot of work!

(I also apologise for not doing my weekly reflection last week)

Exhibition reflection Week 7

Sorting out and going further is almost over and getting to this point has been a lot of fun but has required a lot of finding out first. I have now researched about all my lines of inquiry and have sorted my information out.

Also, I wrote a letter to gender inequality specialist Clementine Ford. Lauren and I have written a letter to her about our questions and thoughts about our topic, gender inequality.

I talked to Mrs Ponting this week about gender inequality, which gave me lots of information. I found a lots of good websites and videos because I realised I needed to have a little more information for line of inquiry 3, now I think I have got more information for line of inquiry than anything else. I so far am very proud of what I have achieved. I know a lot about gender inequality, thanks to some amazing sources that have given me lots of information. Last mentor meeting, my mentor, told us about a women called Margaret who has experience with gender inequality, I am going to write an email to her.

We recently had our mentor meeting for this week and my group and I shared where we are up to in the exhibition. I would love to catch up with our school’s principal and deputy principal and talk about gender inequality. Me and my group have made real progress with our P.E dance, since we have almost finished our dance. My media arts video is going well. I have captured all my images and I am ready for the next stage in my video. I would like to thank Lauren and Ria for being great team members, and always sharing their ideas. I’d like to thank all my primary sources, for their time and knowledge. I’d also like to finally thank my teacher and my mentor.

Exhibition reflection

In the exhibition, we have finished the tuning in stage. I have picked my trans theme, it is “ Who we are”. I have completed my central idea, which is our differences deserve respect and acceptance. I have completed my three lines of inquiry and have finalised my key questions to do that. Here are my lines of inquiry:

1) An inquiry into gender inequality. I chose this line of inquiry because I can find out all about gender inequality, including pay gaps in jobs.

2) An inquiry into the reason behind gender inequality. This is a really important statement to me because if I can identify the reason behind gender inequality I can hopefully raise awareness about getting gender inequality to stop.

3) An inquiry into the action that is being done to improve gender inequality. I hope to tell and show people that we can improve gender inequality.

In the process of doing this, we had to write our key questions on a lotus diagram, to form our lines of inquiry. We had to create a central idea depending on our topic which was hard because I was at a lesson when the central idea was created. We had to pick a trans theme that suited our topic as well as having the trans theme “ How we express ourselves”. The tuning in stage was hard but fun!

Weekly Exhibition Post

We have been told throughout this week, that we are finishing up our finding out stage in the exhibition. I have done lots of research about gender inequality and have jotted down the websites that I have used. This afternoon I am hoping that I can think about some people that I could talk to about gender inequality to use as a primary source. I am also working on my media arts project: making a dramatic video about my topic and in P.E we have finalised our moves and our storyline. I am very excited about the exhibition, working hard to find information is worth it. I talked to my piano teacher about my topic and I was surprised by how much I knew off by heart, reciting without my folder!

Exhibition

For the year five exhibition, my global issue is gender inequality. I chose this topic because I strongly believe that women and men should be equal. At the moment, I am finalising my lines of inquiry. Before that, I was working on my central idea, but I have completed my central idea. My central idea is our differences deserve respect and acceptance. As well as researching my topic after I come up with my lines of inquiry, I also do lessons out of the classroom like P.E, music and art. In P.E, my group and I are creating a dance that represents my issue: gender inequality. My group and I have to make up our own choreography about our issue and explain how it affects people. My topic and the exhibition is a fun experience and it will good fun to express how I feel about my topic.
